Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Human Capital, Wasted...

Mattel has been an outstanding company to work for. If you worked in the industry it was well known that Mattel had the most dedicated and properly trained employees, the tenure was unmatched in the industry and this was leveraged into decades of outstanding company performance.

We all knew that the strength came from the people who worked at Mattel, it was the force that made us unique and was leaving the competition far behind.

Then things begin to change, the employee was pushed aside and internal fiefdoms started to emerge – executives became myopic and focused on personal enrichment and power trips. That’s how Mattel folded, many of do not realize this yet though…

Agreed, that was well said, and I cannot agree more!

I also left about 3 years ago, I was there for about 18 years and watch the slow decline occur. I have nothing but gratitude for my time there, and my heart goes out to all those effected by this latest round.... It truly WAS a great place to work for, but honestly I am happy not to be there at this point in the history of the company... It is very sad....

So well spoken. And that is why I left Mattel of my own fruition 3 years ago. It was an apparent downward spiral. Rd is a blight on Mattel as well as the other executives that work for and with him.
