Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION & BACKGROUND CHECK

I used to work for Cisco a while ago. I am filling an application where the new employer is asking about the Cisco employment dates, manager's name and phone number. I don't know/remember the manager's current phone number, and think that he is now an individual contributor.

Is there a HR phone number that I can use ? For example, give the ex manager name but give the phone number of HR. I assume that Cisco will only verify the starting and ending dates.

How have you folks handled the above situation ?

If you were LR’d, your pack had the details. Managers are not allowed to give references, just HR and they only give verification references.

You need to give them the number for Cisco Employee Services (HR). I don't know the US number and hopefully someone can share the US number.
