Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Non-Fraternization Policy

Not sure what happened to the original post, but I agree that COP should implement a non-fraternization policy.

Intel got it right when they fired their CEO a few weeks ago for having an affair with an employee. Intel has a longstanding, non-fraternization policy that prohibits managers from having s-xual or romantic relationships with employees who report directly or indirectly to them, a spokesman for the company said. The spokesman called the policy a “strict” and “hard ban” that he said applies to all managers regardless of seniority level. The policy also requires that employees who see or believe someone acted inappropriately to raise their concerns immediately, he said.

Meeting people at work wasn't the subject of this thread. It was about people in power using their power to harass or have affairs with employees.

And if that budding relationship takes a turn south, it is a very bad place to meet someone. This happened to a friend once. Dated a coworker for years. Whatever happened, it got really ugly really quickly. Even the police got involved. Stick with FarmersOnly.com

Once you get older it’s hard meeting people. Work is a good place to meet a future spouse

It is a corrupt industry controlled by corrupt countries (#access of evil countries) and run by corrupt managers.

The ConocoPhillips BoD would never do what Intel did. Trust me on this, my personal experience: the ELT takes care of their own. They talk integrity, they talk ethics, but when it comes to them, the rules don’t apply.

I have to agree that such adoption will be great. I heard one case of a (guy) manager very cozy with his report who was a guy. I don’t work in that group anymore.
