Re-structuring is done. The three verticals are in place and the others have been sold off or in process of creating new companies. The internal restructuring is just getting started. That won't be complete to end of 2019 beginning of 2020. When all is said and done GE will be a much smaller company, Not having the cash to invest in other companies may mean GE never regains its place of one of the largest companies. GE management needs to forget the arrogance of the past. Now is the time when they need to forget all the culture, training, travel, six sigma, interns and leadership programs. Those should be for growing successful companies. Maybe a few years down the line they can do this. Biggest problem is John can't get things done quickly. Since the big decisions are made he should have his execs start implementing in matter of weeks not years like in the past. He won't because he has been influenced to much by HR. Morale is real low and employees can't see the light at end of tunnel. Employees are screaming for some closure. If this means layoffs GET TO IT so employees left can start to re-build company without looking over shoulder. Everyday he wastes is another day of low productivity, worsen morale and split among employees.

1 Cause of all the problems is the "Culture of Leadership" was a complete miss, and will continue until HR processes are revamped, leadership walks the talk, and non value added resources are eliminated
Have to agree well said. Employees know it's coming just do it already
He is just the next down the line with a golden parachute!
Because he is out of touch. After 30+ years and his vast number of shares, he has no clue (or care) about the company
Very well said!
