Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

This is the scary hidden side of CDK Global

In Indian IT market, CDK Global is very well respected and treated company. People giving interviews here also feel proud that they atleast got an opportunity to clear some of the rounds. May it even be 3rd round or so.

But after seeing this layoff happening in front of my eyes, I don't think I would recommend CDK Global to anyone. No matter how well blessed their work-life balance may look from the outside, we insiders know how it really works from inside. How many hours we spend debugging issues and attending meetings and calls.

You lure new employees with good offers and showing well decorated offices and handsome pay, and then within few months you kick-them out.

There might be a reason why CDK is 16th worst ranked workplace to work with. There might be reason why this discussion is occuring. There might be something wrong with Brian or he may be really incompetent in handling this company.

It has become an annual culture in CDK to trash employees because of the management's bad decisions.

This opinion asks 'Why were there layoffs in the first place?' ... The bottom line, Money. Performance is FAR from being the root cause of this problem! This is a whole different element.

The 'FACTS' are that this company is as bad as it has been portrayed. Why would hundreds, if not thousands of highly talented individuals complain?? Well, check all sites to understand WHY! Or better yet, open both eyes, look at the loss, look at the tears and pain! Please take the time to understand and know the truth!!

I’ve recently been laid off from CDK... For the second time.

Upon hire the company makes it a point to tell you jobs are kept based on performance. Wow, how that couldn’t be more wrong. Positions are constantly being cut in an effort to make shareholders happy. Always changing upper management comes in on their high horse ready to make “change” without knowing exactly what you or your team bring to the company.

As someone in management at CdK let me be clear: front line managers were in no way involved with this layoff. We found out literally the day before the layoff. We did. It select who was to go, only told it was happening. Many people were let go with way less then 2 months at the company. I’ve spoken to many other managers at offices in the US and India and all were in the same boat. Your kidding yourself if this was done for performance reasons... company is working on selling.. need to seem more profitable

Why they are hiring people only for 2 or 3 months. That means goal and vision is bot clear to management itself.

I was laid off within 4 months of joining. I can honestly say CDK has made the start of my CS career a lot more difficult.

Two were laid off from my office within months of joining. This is not good for them as they will have to convince any future potential employers that their quick layoff was not performance based. CDK seems to me to be exactly as bad as portrayed in some of the posts here.

Its not from hr, its not from top level. Managers decided whok to layoff. And not based on performance at all. In project, i saw an extraordinary person was fired. he was a star performer.

I knw few fresh grads who got fired. They might have joined cdk with lot of hopes as first company. Is this the gift CDK giving to a fresh grad for choosing CDK?

No criteria to , no performance, just blindly firing by considering managers input.

Definitely CDK is not a preferred company in India any more.

It lost its charm.

Performance or not the preparedness of this exercise was only from HR and managers also were informed only a day prior. All said and done lives have been ruined. Spirit has been broken. CDK will never get a comeback at least in India.

CDK India layed off 3 fresh graduates who joined this year. They joined here leaving other offers which they have. CDK becoming worst day by day. I agree it was a very good company before higher management changes we're done.

This opinion of CDK Global lacks substance. Layoffs are hard on the affected individuals but i dont think people have been laid off within months of their joining. Two folks from my team were asked to go; both were in the company for more than 5 years. I cant imagine any reason other than performance.

Yes, CDK Global is far from being a great organization but it sure is not as bad is been portrayed in some of the posts here.
