I wonder...Do we still have a contract with GE? We've been screwed!!!
Is the* autocorrect
It actually isn’t that hardest thing to send away due to the autoclaves. Also being the only bar facility in the us to support service work here in a timely manor.
Why would they keep the bar shop ? That's one of the easiest to send away
I just pulled up the contract after seeing the claim of only two layoffs a year are allowed. This is a false statement and furthermore what @UWmbyQn-qdv has stated is 100% true your ba sold out the people that got laid off.
His name is Karl!
@ ANJ you and our union got played like a broken fiddle. Thinking this will save jobs here in 273 well think again. You got played by the best players in the game with your union backing them. There will be a lot more layoffs in Jan-Feb 2019! There will be less than 300 people left in Schenectady as GE turns 273 into a Bar Shop/Service Shop and everything else will be made in Europe.
It's not even a rumor. It's just some guy who posts as different people trying to get attention.
@qdv: Wrong. By contract there can only be two layoffs per year. It doesn't matter how many bodies, but no more than two. If the Company did August and then again December it would have made three since there was already one in January, and I doubt even GE wanted to fight that fight. It doesn't mean there won't be another come January or February of 19 but you can't blame the hall cuz you got laid off too early for your liking.
The company presented the past layoff as 2 layoffsone mow around 100 one nov time frame. The ba in his infinite wisdom told the company to do it all now. And that’s what they did. So our union f---ed over about 100 guys that could have gotten unemployment and severance over the holidays.
Again rumor no one has any real info
What?!?! How can this be?!? We just approved their proposal here in Schenectady, we gave them everything they wanted, we gave them flexibility to keep the place open-it was supposed to be their best opportunity to keep the place open and avoid layoffs! We bent over backwards for the company once again, while we were under contract. I just don’t understand this anymore. How can this happen? It seems the two major players on both sides of this deal, the company & the union have swindled the employees/membership
