Actually Integrated Workforce at Macy’s means that associates can pick up shifts at nearby Macy’s stores, therefore eliminating the need to hire so much staff at a certain 4 wall location. New position is called Customer Service Associate.
Wow. The workforce integration comment is big. I heard murmurs about this before I left the company but would habpve never imagines the executive changes. The ALL PLAY days from the last two holidays begin to make more sense. So it sounds like we’re copying Kohl’s? I know one NW MVP from there. Company must be using his experience to make theese changes.
They will probably lease out fine jewelry again. Therefore, these positions will be up to the lease dept. If they staff like Macy's. They probably will not.
So how do these eliminations trickle down to the Jewelry Complex Clericals and Jewelry Leaders??
The real news from the Reno meeting was about several pilot programs that start this month and center around whole store team workforce integration. This programs virtually eliminate what are now selling and support positions and make all employees required to work all types of shifts. Employees will be required to pick-up positions in whatever type of shift is available. No longer will there be Sales Managers, Sales Leads, Sales Supervisors, Merchandise Team Managers, Merchandise Leads, or Vice President Store Managers....just a General Managers and Managers (similar to Khols). Several regional team members were discussing the implementation of this program in January, resulting in district consolidations and position eliminations, streamlining middle management like never before and resulting in huge salary savings to support 2019 Growth 100 stores.
I was referring to the associates. Associates will not show up. Every associate in our building has stated they would never do it. No heads buried in sand here
Plenty of people will show up on Xmas day... what do you think only Christian people work and shop at Macys. Have you not seen the ads targeting Muslim women and men. Give me a break! And get your heads out of the sand!
Saw the holiday calendar given to management already. Shows we are open 6pm on thanksgiving and we are still Closed Xmas day. They know no one would show up for that.
No one will work on christmas day!
