Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

No more vrifs?

No more I didn't hear of vrifs the last couple times. Wouldn't that be cheaper for Xerox?

If you volunteer under a VRIF, you lose the ability to collect unemployment benefits. Don’t do it. Let them force you out, collect the measly package & then file for unemployment. Hopefully, you will have something lined up or get hired early afterwards. If the package isn’t worth staying for, find something else. NOW!!!

Explain why you think a VRIF would be cheaper? The severance is the same

Doesn't matter. No more severance packages as a practical matter, so whether you volunteer to go or are told to go, that's it.

The cheapest way to get rid of people is to terminate them. No benefits, no package. There are only a few protected classes, where a lawsuit would cost them more.
