Mubadala started GF under a organization called ATIC. The head of that org was a young kid,
GF's competitors were Samsung / TSMC / UMC / SMIC. ( all are doing extremely well .... especially the first 2 )
As for New York State, the entire NY state program which includes GF as been ridden with scandal after scandal, the latest being the Alain Kaloyeros case. ( SUNY president )
AND NY State is the MOST corrupted. ( I choose a SEP 2016 article so it has NOTHING to do with the current political climate )
