New employee tours 3 days after Mass layoff, good taste GF! Really motivates those of us who lost friends, spouces and other family members to continue our efforts here to make our executives rich! Restructuring did not occur as stated except for upper level management. Lay offs we're necessary but there was little to no strategy involved and now there are hundreds of people laid off as GF continues to hire. I will continue to collect my paycheck at a greatly reduced level of effort, morale and respect for the company I once thought of as a great place to grow.

My guess is that number is more like 2600 now for Malta. The ultimate target is 1800 to sustain the site, so another 800 to go!!

As GlobalFoundries was hiring all those workers, it undertook a few rounds of job cuts, often without specifying exact numbers. its Malta workforce was 3,300 — it has cited those totals in the past but more recently has stopped quantifying its workforce.
