TC promoted to CEO bcz Sanjay wanted to prioritize FDX over 7. Sanjay was criticized by TC/ GP and mentioned 7 is future. So FDX dropped. Now so called future "7nm" is also dropped with new story and all leaders singing new song. Who made all investment calls and risk assessment for 7nm ?? I did not make any single call but still out and they all enjoying long weekend with dreams of extra bonus :(

Motivated, encouraged. It’s too bad some of our former coworkers are on here with this level of toxic attitude. Maybe cutting some of you away was the right thing after all. Disappointed.

The oil shieks and Tom couldnt care less about you, your family or this town. Do yourself a favor and buy up some of the cheap property that's about to come on the market so your somewhat insured for when they skip town with billions in tax money in their pockets.

You folks are spending too much time next to the EUV lithography machine. I knew regular photoresist and developer would get you high. But that EUV photoresist must really get you wasted. Some blah blah blah rah rah rah pivot talk. You are losers and have been losers. There are two things that saved you. AMD had to use you and oil sheiks thought they could run a semi biz. If thet are smart you will be sold soon.

Right after the lay-off in June, we were told by our management that 7nm is still racing ahead as scheduled, we would meet M4 and then M5 exit dates, 7nm will be in production next year...blah, blah, blah. Many of us, including myself, actually believed the lay-off was just a one-time deal to make the company more efficient (as Tommy put it), and we will move on and qualify 7nm in the end.

Two months later, 7nm was sc-apped, 8 out of the total 10 in my dept were purged, including myself. Even some in AME not associated with 7nm were laid off too, including technicians.

And, of course, Tommy and his SLT put up another GlobalCast to lay out the future for GF, which, again, could sound so convincing and exciting.

For those who survive this time, and feel pumped up by GlobalCast, I truly understand your feeling, because I shared the same before. Everyone's got his or her job and family to take care of. After such a heavy blow, one needs to reconcile and move on. The SLT of this company have kept making changes after changes in strategy, operation, and structure every now and then, and most of them turn out to be failure. There is no vision, no roadmap, no long-term solution, and no respect for talents. But, they can always put up good speeches chagred with all those fancy terms (pivot??) to create such "feel-good" illusion...!

It is perfectly OK to feel excited after GlobalCast. Everyone needs some hope to carry on. But, I am just stating the fact and quoting my experience that GF's SLT are full of lies. Most of them don't even know what they're talking about at all.

For those staying in GF, wish all of you good luck, get your paycheck, take care of yourself and your family, but do keep your eyes open, seriously!

For those who are purged like me, there is green pasture out there for us to explore. We shall prevail somewhere else.

If you truly didn’t feel we have a path forward after the town hall, just leave. The comments about missing birthdays, or firsts? I’m a technician who has to miss holidays per my schedule. GF has supplied food to my family, as well as yours. No one is forcing you to stay there if you are truly unhappy, we will do better as a team without folk like you

Apologize for not sharing that “incredible feeling” about Globalfoundries. Semiconductor requires constant change. I get that. But my first job is making sure my family survives. We have sacrificed precious family moments for this company; Missing Christmases, weekends, nights, birthdays, weddings, graduations, baby’s “firsts” etc to build this company. Moving from home to home, plant to plant with promises unfulfilled. Less raises, less promotions, less opportunity packing boxes, waiting for that interview email, explaining to the kids sometimes you can work your heart out and still lose. Can’t seem to feel all inspired by/respect a CEO who will leave w/ millions in a golden parachute while my family struggles like this. We are not family to them, just another process or tool they can dump after not serving its purpose. Tired. Frustrated. Used....but grateful we know the truth about Globalfoundries. It is just a matter of time before the next round of anxiety of layoffs for those of you who still are marks in this con game. If it seems to be too good to believe, it probably is. My family’s sacrifice built this “start up” that just keeps starting up but never moves, so we are moving.

You guys continue to drink the ORANGE kool-aid. The SLT is able to continue to "pivot" the public opinion in their favor. Kudos for that but without capacity expansion and dropping ASP, how will they maintain the revenue and deliver margins. Only way is to cut some more people in Nov/Dec in Malta and worldwide to achieve "efficiency".

Guys get out while you are not on the next list.

Incredible feeling leaving the town hall, the team will miss those that weren’t fortunate to continue on in Malta, but we will continue to carry the torch towards future successes. Tom has earned my respect the way he handled the questions regardless of what kind of mess he may have walked into, he has shown ownership of the company, and my confidence has grown in our leader tenfold. I’ve never seen so many cheerful people at global until the end of today’s meeting.

I thought the Globalcast was encouraging as well. I feel less anxious and just want move forward and tackle what I can control to help make the new direction successful. Being from this area, Fab 8 is still an employment gem compared to other environments that I've worked in. I'm not ready to give up and contribute to its demise. It's brought to much vibrancy to a sleepy town. I still saw a standing-room-only cafe today that was jam packed with talent. Time to come together.

Very encouraged, the CEO/GM handled this very well. More respect for dealing with the difficult decisions that previous leadership didn’t handle. Onward :)
