Drink that Orange Kool-Aid

I wonder how all those people who drank the orange kool-aid and uprooted their lives and family to move up to Clifton Park from East Fishkill are feeling about that decision now? Enjoy paying for that McMansion with no job. Sure, you can look for another job in Albany but now you're going to be competing with 700 other people for 50 jobs! Good luck folks! Enjoy you're 7nm celebration at the track on Monday and prepare for the bloodbath on Tuesday!

If you are not prepared for layoff in any business or any job you are a fool. I give loyalty to family and friends....never.....ever to a company. You are a resources like steel, silicon, etc. if you think otherwise I have a bridge to sell you.

I am looking forward to a fun day at the track today then sending out my resume tomorrow! Oh, and anyone that survives tomorrow will probably get axed in the great Christmas eve layoff of 2018! Time to get off the Titanic while there are still lifeboats!

What a clusterf*&k.

Complete and utter failure of the SLT.

Management should be shameful to cut a cake and celebrate when lots of people are in line to lose their jobs. Another one good example how bad the management is...

How can someone be stress free for cutting cakes and enjoy tracks when he would be laid off next day?? Only one who know he is safe can think so positive and that would be only SLT.

Semiconductor is a volatile business where you must be prepared to move where the “biz iz. However GlobalFoundries lied to most of us failing to succeed in any node never moving from the “start-up” mode yet bleeding the locals dry with tax breaks and low or no cost Malta town infrastructure enhancements. I had to fight for my relocation benefits, struggle with the id--tic clueless HR Business Partners and suffering through at least 6 CEO changes since 2011! Im sad for the kids who now must say goodbye to their school friends or that young couple with a 30-year Malta Mortgage and a dream. Most of all, I’m sad we’ll never see any of it in the local media because GlobalFoundries aka IBM-lite has mastered the layoff in small waves to avoid bad press! We all believed their puffing and we have been made the fools. We gave our best. There is another day, another job, another challenge ahead. Squeeze every little benefit before you leave and try not to burn those bridges. Looks like the GlovalFoundries dream may be consumed by a successful giant who may rehire us all! Keep your sense of humor and take care of each other!

The meeting that day (cake cutting) was more about everyone who worked hard on the project for the past couple years and getting a last chance to show appreciation for one another. It felt like a eulogy in there, but now’s not the time to be disrespectful.

As for Monday, not a celebration, but time for us to have a “stress free” day before we’re exited from the company.

Not bitter at all... I rather live life than wait for things to happen which is what most did in East Fishkill. It was an awesome journey and yes it does s--- that it will probably come to an end soon, but I don't think anyone could've predicted this scenario five years back. Good luck to everyone next week!

Historical layoff celebrated with a week for group lunch, cake cutting and last day closure ceremony at tracks. No wonder if leadership cut cakes for 3nm success on Monday also and take photos for marketing and their resumes. lol..
