Turns out SLB were twice as expensive as BHGE

BHGE are just buying work at a loss. Nothing new. If they want to lose money that's not our problem.

Absolutely correct!

Massive over stocking of components which become redundant, unrealistic planning which is actually a joke spawned from guesswork by deluded planning minions and too many managers and supervisors contributing nothing of fiscal value. I'll bet you could dump 70% of the stock in the warehouses but no manager has the cojones to do this as they know they would have no chance of getting another job with a real company.

Schlumberger are still waaaay too expensive as it has to support too many non-contributing staff who are only concerned about sigma, 6s and transformations which, judging by the lack of innovation, have not worked. It is rather sad as Schlumberger could have been a brilliant place to work but it always has been too reliant on buying in technology which cannot be understood by the MEs.

SLB are just so cost heavy, unfocused and very inefficient that I wonder how we win any contracts these days. Its very frustrating having to deal with our shared services organisation and paying way above market rates for a terrible service. Our last 3 contract bids we lost because of them pricing us out of the bid.

BHGE is a failure company an is probably way underbidding at a huge loss right now. There is a reason GE is dropping them.

Totally unacceptable to be losing this size of contract

Should be focused on winning not losing

Unfortunately the previous poster is a first grade Muppet. Quite true- contract was for several hundreds of millions and BHGE snatched it with style. Even with their 50% blue discount they were way too expensive. The management at Schlumberger is totally out of touch. Even with Venezuela and Iran not producing much oil, the price of oil is dropping. Wake up and smell the coffee Sheeple.

On the positive side they are bidding for contracts with Petronas....the world's most indebted company. It just gets better so y'all need to batten down the hatches.

We has a lot of SQ problems with this client due to lack of experienced people on the job. You cant expect to deliver the highest levels of service quality with graduate engineers with 2 years experience.

A total cluster if ever I saw one
