Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart Phatmacy

Seeing lots of hours cut in the pharmacy (Dept 38) and now hearing of pharmacist losing hours and their positions. We are heading into cold and flu season with no help, SG3 not predicting extra hours, losing help & a new scheduling system.

They’re cutting the department managers in half and merging the departments together.

They want to save money so they can live better!

They just announced at my pharmacy that they laid off one of the new techs and they are eliminating a full time position as well, but no word on who. Our pharmacist has been with the company for 30+ years and part of me wonders if he's trying to save his own job. We have a tech with a young son and pregnant wife who has been there the longest, but the pharmacy manager doesn't like him. Rumor is that he's next. They are also eliminating several positions throughout the store, moving and firing folks who have been around since it opened 10 years ago. A truly heartless multibillion dollar Corporation.

Profits and payroll deduction is what shareholders want.

Cut expenses and profits will rise...human casualty is irrelevant.

I'm afraid we are going to lose 3 employees in our department that's grandfathered in. It's great they can work so little hours and still have the perk of full time benefits but it still doesnt always make ends meet or keep food on the table being short 20-40 hours a payperiod.

That’s one reason I left! They want you to have no life working for them or holidays!

The new scheduling system makes it clear they dont value their long time employees.

They want long term gone!

People that spent decades building the company. That actually made more than average pay check!

We have 3 employees grandfathered in at 27 hours- new scheduling system has them at 19 to 24 hour weeks & that's with open availability. No one can convince me they're trying to keep these people who have spent most of their life with this company.

Home office thinks if they can make more money by rotating schedules. It’s a way to get rid of long term employees.
