Patient care has always been compromised
You just don’t hear about it. They been running pharmacies like their factories for years ever since they started the four dollar generics. They’re not going to start caring now!
Patient care compromised for the almighty dollar. When errors begin occurring, who will be to blame? I pray that we make it to March without any major issues. Retail pharmacy is going downhill!
This explains the "Quarterly" regional selection that happened every month there for a while at the beginning of the year. Getting ones ready to step in and replace the ones they get rid of.
Walmart doesn’t care, in their eyes it’s your problem!
Stores in our market are losing techs because we dont have the hours. School is starting back and they've already shipped us flu shots, how do they expect us to do everything with no mistakes and no help?
We did a CBL this past week on the specialty pharmacy in Orlando so I expect to see big changes coming soon. I suspected changes were coming when we started using the PA assistance instead of contacting the prescriber to do a PA.
Some stores are already doing it. It’s only a matter of time rolling it out. The days of 6 techs coming in at the same time are coming to an end. Most scripts will be done offsite.
What’s the timeline?
Pharmacy will eventually have one tech, one pharmacist per shift and no cashiers.
Anxious to see what changes will be coming to pharmacy. We lost a pharmacist at our store this past week and are being told tech hours are based off pharmacist hours- so not having hours for a pharmacist to keep their position sounds like tech cuts coming sooner than later. Not to mention we are heading into cold and flu season where pharmacy is the busiest.
slow and painful crash!
