In preparation for next Thursdays layoffs at HE HR set a call up with supervisors of all those to be fired. Listening to beaps of those joining and viewing attendee list in the outlook invite there were over a 100 on the call. It was mentioned we always fire on a Thursday as it’s the least impactful day on productivity. Forget the poor people losing their jobs, it’s all about minimizing the impact on a days work. Do it on a Monday and you lose a week of man hours of those left behind. Do it on a Thursday and the already non-productive Friday WFH day becomes the grief day so things carry on as normal come Monday!

@UIgoDv9-zob Friday is the work from home day at Hoffman , anyone with a minimal amount of precursory knowledge about the company has known this for years
6/26 = Tuesday
1/31 = Tuesday
FYI: I was laid off on a Wednesday from SHC
@1yjm you obviously don’t work at Hoffman. Everyone knows Thursday is the main day for layoffs. All you have to do is google ‘hoffman layoffs’ and you’ll see the Thursday dates
At hoffman Tuesday is the norm for a layoff.
Unfortunately,it has been a long time since Sears has been the best retailer in America...1987 is when Sears lost the #1 position to Walmart and it has been a virtual continuous slide downhill ever since....
@zob - Not at Hoffman Estates! Headquarters it is more like a 4 and a half day affair. Many of the associates there don't even show up on Fridays! They claim it's because they worked extra hours the previous four days and/or they are working from home. LOL
Layoffs always happen on tuesdays. For years!
