I got laid off from Xerox about a year ago and suddenly I had no health insurance. Fortunately, a friend of mine, who was also a veteran, told me about the VA Healthcare Benefit Plan. I applied and got it. They cover you like regular insurance, but you have to call a company called TriWest first who handles the appointments and get approval for each appointment. I had to go online at a VA website and apply for it. It took about two weeks to get set up but I'm glad I did it.

I predict Sep 13th or 14 th so people are off the books for Q4 after the 15 day notice period so no Q4 vacation can be accrued. You can’t have listened to latest all employee calls and not see this coming. Major shake up to go to market strategy will be the next thing and the resulting reductions will be equally as bad or worse.
Xerox just changed their severance from 1 week for every year up to 30 weeks TO a flat 12 weeks for Salaried employees and a measly 2 weeks for all hourly employees and all sales. All those people with 25-40 years that were waiting for a package are fit to be tied. Morale is absolute rock bottom and it's like I'm working with a bunch of zombies now. No one could care less what happens to this company and pretty much everyone is looking for a job. BTW, right after the reduced severance announcement Xerox laid off a bunch of people and the word is there are more, bigger layoffs coming.
