I understand that this is a forum for upset employees/former employees, trolls, and good folk genuinely looking for solid news about potential layoffs, so my apologies if this post isn’t what you are currently looking for on this site. I want to express my gratitude for all of the wonderful people in the NYC office. If an outsider only read this site to gain info on our company (or more specifically, the NYC office) their takeaway would be an ugly, stinking mess. But inside the walls of the NYC office, most of us knew it to be something quite the opposite. What a great place full of great people. (A few loud trolls will respond creatively to this, but let the trolls troll.) Thanks, NYC!

That cannot be true. Mattel could not do that to those people.
just revealed: those working in the NY office until december will not be getting the severance. They will be terminated. Sad.

Agreed with OP! So much creativity and an astounding amount of patience dealing with upper management. SL crushed that office on a regular basis (and look where it got her) but the creative teams continued to come up with great ideas nonetheless.
