Consultants have advised bringing tasks currently being done in Bartlesville to corporate headquarters. They are recommending complete withdraw from Bartlesville as soon as possible. Head cont reduction and efficiency improvement will result. Another benefit pointed out is less internal conflict and friction, faster decision making process. Gotta love those consultants!

Dallas IT company showing it's capabilities to run corporate operations in event of Houston disaster. Doesn't look good for Bville as we move to the cloud.
Ha, keep believing that. It can always get worse. Always.
Actually what we have in Bville is so bad there is only one way to go! Outsourcing has got to be better.
I love when people think outsourcing is the solution. You reap what you sow. Enjoy.
We don't need Houston, move corporate up here and lay off all those slackers down there.
Outsourcing some of it to Dallas the rest goes to Houston.
I guess all the work would be absorbed by the existing Houston staff? If not, good luck getting cheaper labor unless everything is outsourced.
I think in the next few weeks will show what the future is for Bartlesville. If they receive a "modest" layoff that would indicate that Bartlesville will be around for a few more years..
If they don't take a hit they are the sacred cow and will be around for ?
Another expense is the shuttle, along with COP responsible for the airport in Bartlesville. RL and the BOD and ELT need to grow a pair and make the necessary cuts and just be done with it.
Why is it that every other non-core asset has been disposed of or is under the gun and this place continues to s--- up? We could pull this into Houston so easy for huge savings and efficiency improvement it is amazing we have not done this yet. Maybe its because Mulva like Bville and is lobbying for it behind the scenes.
@UHMuSud-4vlq for those compelling reasons Bartlesville should be shut down and NOW!!!
Nobody cares about Bartlesville. Shut it down, shut it down now!
Consultant breakfast tacos...all day, yo
Bartlesville is good for employee retention. People move there, buy a house there, get spoiled by the low cost of living and have no outside career prospects other than switching to P66. The good employees quickly leave, but it's all the mediocre ones who fall into this trap and stay there forever. So the only logical decision is to keep Bartlesville, so the employee turnover rate is low! Silly consultants.
Let me tell you Bartlesville is great and you must be pretty insignificant due to your grammar and spelling!
The Ponca City Troll is back and drunk again.
Yes, Bartlesville is important just ask them they will tell ho w important Bartlesville is and how important they are. They will then will tell you how small and insignificant you are. Bartlesville is becoming obsolete and they know it and there is nothing they can do about it.
This board has been absolutely obsessed with shutting down Bartlesville for years. One of these days it will happen and they'll all claim victory as if they actually had some kind of inside knowledge on the matter.
Many seem to think shutting down Bartlesville will fix all COP's problems. It won't.
All the computing is still done in Bartlesville. Until that changes Bartlesville is still going to be needed for daily operations.
Granted that 90% of the IT people do not need to be In Bartlesville.
As long as the 2nd floor of the Information Center in Bartlesville is COP's a.k.a. Cloud Bartlesville will still be needed.
Now if COP does what Phillips 66 is doing that will change everything.
Moving Infrastructure to the Amazon cloud or Microsoft cloud would be big cost savings..
I was in a meeting with consultants out of Dallas that were demonstrating their capabilities to take over necessary corporate functions in event of another Houston disaster. We are setting up our systems to enable a remote switch if necessary. I don't know if this has anything to do with Bartlesville but it does make sense.
Energy center buildings are designed to be functional in hurricane event. Necessary personnel might have to take boats or helicopters but buildings and communications designed to be functional and self supporting for several weeks.
Total BS. There has to be stable and secure remote campus in the event of a catastrophic event like Hurricane Harvey. When Houston was under water, commercial was up and running in Bartlesville without missing a beat. B’ville is here to stay.
Worst news ever for Bartlesville colleges 😟. How did you find out the consultant recommendations?
