Looks like they are saying there is a future for server related products. Is it true or smoke and mirrors?

Product is not competitive by definition of the word ‘competitive’.
Qualcomm shut down the business because the investment wasn’t worth it. In other words, investment dollars could be more productively invested elsewhere.
Therefore - not competitive.
If it were competitive, it wouldn’t be shut down.

Server is गोली चलाने की आवाज़
Time to be honest about server. It is a no-go. Realistically why would OEM's abandon current established sources for possible marginal improvements without established track record.
OEM will keep current sources with iterations of existing IP for now. Additionally the instability at Qualcomm will keep OEM away. Why risk sourcing and production on top of new tech?
The answer is SERVER is a NO-GO!
No one buys its weight internally and externally shows the phantomness of this fly. Still hanging on for new aSAM aTAM , damn they are plain stupid or believe the other halves are fools.
The id--t that keeps saying the product is not competitive is a mo--n. The problem is that all the key engineers are now at Microsoft and Nvidia. There is no way to finish Firetail and design the next generation. So there ya go Q now has the worst of all situations and wasting money.
What about the AI efforts in r and d that they moved people to?

Sounds like a metric ton of BS to me.
They don’t have critical mass for continued R&D and these ‘edge’ channels are just as competitive as the traditional hyper scale server channels, so I don’t think Q’s channel advantage matters there.
The product is simply not competitive. If it were, they’d be selling into the much larger market and not some network edge niche. It’s even debatable if they would be competitive there as ARM had a strong roadmap with Deimos and Hercules CPUs which Cavium and other can get off the shelf. There are rumors that Amazon is doing that also. The space is crowded and the talent isn’t there at Q, especially after most of the good engineers lefts.
It smells more like there are some contractual obligations to the China JV that need to get done befor just closing it all down.
There is no way Q can be profitable in this space.
Is there no critical mass left to deliver the future products? What about the q chip?
How can they deliver when most of the key engineers left?
