Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Given notice that your last day is in the future means...

Please transition your work to your backfill. Totally unacceptable. If you think your manager will give you a good reference and skip over Xerox policy saying they should not comment, then help your manager. If you think they will just refer employment checks to HR, then draft a letter for them to sign now! You can include it in your interview packages. If they don’t help you, you shouldn’t help them. Why would anybody transition their work their backfill? Don't most people who get booted get walked out immediately?

That S---s! 22 years...you’ve seen the very tail end of the good years (quality movement basically) and almost a couple decades of the bad. Good luck to you.

I am axed after 22 years here. I cannot wait to leave, the company has changed forever. There are many opportunities for engineers, my next job may be paid less but I will certainly enjoy it more.
