Things have settled down here. Two people laid off from my office earlier. Nothing new for the last hour. I think it might be over.

You can also add 13 more union jobs that were lost in the new contract. Xerox manager might want to look at how contract company are double dipping on jobs Xerox maintenance all ready did and contract got paid three times as much to do work that was already done . I bet those manager still have a job
STaddeo: ask George conroy what he thinks when hears this is another reduction of those worker bees (not middle management as he claimed). Hence another revenue decline as there are less and less doing the work. Is this what he’d like to see if a shareholder of the company?
You might want to investigate why 117 union people were let go in December 23 in March . The company broke the union contract . And the union and the company brushed it under the rug kept . junior people because be if a table test . The contact say the company is supposed to give the classes . Federal meditation was won in August of 2017and the company never followed through with the out come of the meditation. Or did the union . So if you want a law suit against the company and union start their 10 years they just gave the tests and grandfather people from taking it. So I guess seniority ment Nothing . What a great company. and they want your loyalty lol
STaddeo: many will not speak until they sign release document to guarantee their severance. NYS law says no unemployment if you receive a lump sump payment (ie severance) unless you wait to sign release 30 days after last day on job. So no one will talk for at least a month. Maybe find out why NYS has this law?
STaddeo: no one is going to say anything until severances are confirmed. Could be anywhere from 1-2 months. If you want to help, investigate how Xerox went from 3500 employees (D&C article in May when announcing exit from Xerox Square) to 3100 employees in Monroe County 3 months later and no NYS WARN notice. Find out why!
After all of these years watching one of the worst-managed companies in the US kill itself and it's people, and looking at the font-size of the writing on the wall grow larger than the wall, I'm simply astounded that employees are still acting surprised, or saying, "hey, I'm thinking the dust has settled". WHY ARE YOU STILL WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY? Xerox couldn't even spin its parts off and retain it's presence in town, which even Kodak has done. This has been DECADES in the making. Non-stop. If you still work there, well, you certainly lack the judgment to be hired elsewhere.
This IS personal! Xerox chose to change severance the day before advising employees they were being laid off. These are people who have worked for this company for DECADES! People whose entire lives depended on a fair conclusion. If it's time to allow Xerox to die, so be it. But thank those who carried this company through good times and bad by providing what was promised! THEIR ACTIONS MADE IT PERSONAL!!!
Is anyone really surprised that Xerox is making cuts? We are in a dying industry. Come on people, this is not personal, its how business works. If Xerox survives, it will be half the size, or even less in the end.
Just got email that a VP was let go as well.
STaddeo: While I understand your desire to get the scoop, you are facing a situation of zero trust. First, individuals need time to confirm you are who you say you are.
( everything you've stated as coming from a spokesperson can easily be found by anyone with web access) Next, only those who have a check in their hand would be likely to speak. The rest of us have to currently remain silent.
There aren’t enough survivors in my organization to manage the work load and think they are sitting ducks
This is also happening in California
Still going!!
Hi, I'm a reporter at the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester NY. We're flying a little blind here in terms of numbers. Would anyone be willing to give me some more context off the record? We've heard from spokespeople that its IT staff, engineers, program managers, finance managers across the U.S. (including Webster) and Canada.
What organization are you and where are you located?
1/3rd of the US IT force was cut today. In my organization, 60% were cut.
Over for today, perhaps.
Now the survivors are being asked how they'll pick up the work of those let go. (I was.)
not over. trust me.
