Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Will Lawrenceville survive for next few years?

Not sure what my prospects are at this new company, does anyone think Lawrenceville will survive for 1 more year? Or is it better to find another job now

You can evaluate this for yourself. Just greet a 5 different people at random on a given day, just a Hi, how are things. If 2 or more of them respond with some remark about layoffs, hanging on, or is it Friday yet, 3 years until retirement, than it's 100% time to bail.

If Lawrenceville is not generating any operating revenue then it will be preserved for ever in Cisco.

@UCxh1mK-xob, I echo the same sentiment as @UCxh1mK-aum. Most of the SA/Cisco CDBU people have been decimated by technicolor. Before the close, they promised to keep everyone and every site because the "people" makes technicolor successful. After closing, they shutdown SJ, then houston and I assume other sites as well. Had numerous LO's... Most of the people we worked with from SA days are probably (or eventually be ) gone... Rumors of another technicolor layoff is in the air. So never believe what these bastards are telling you during the transition... As mentioned, Job hunting is not easy... start early... It gets very stressful looking when you don't have a job and have a family to feed... I went through that stress with technicolor and its not fun...

The job hunt can be stressful. It's always easier to interview while you still have a job.

Advice from an ex-CDBU guy who went through the sale to Technicolor: update LinkedIn and your resume, add a lot of new contacts, and start searching. That way you'll have a head start if things go bad with novaNDS. It's a new company with new processes and benefits, so it's kind of like going to a new company anyway. Might as well take the opportunity to poke your head up and look around. The job market in ATL is hot and the grass definitely can be greener out there.

If you have to ask then question then you need to bail. Besides nobody on this board will have a honest clue.
