Been with the company over 40 years and witnessed all of nanagement’s brilliant ideas. Hey, let’s give all the employees different states to handle where they’re unfamiliar with the plaintiff attorneys and medical facilities. Oh and let’s give them first line management who also know nothing about those states. Oh and now that it takes them longer to handle the claims, let’s make them spend a lot of time tracking everything they do for our crazy huddle boards. Oh and let’s take away all their unit secretaries so that the have absolutely no support and have to add administrative tasks to their day. Oh and last but not least mgmts best decision yet. Let’s fire a lot of dedicated, experienced and loyal employees who delivered excellent work product. Oh wait I think there are more great decisions concerning work/life balance. But those are too painful and shameful to even go into.

Many people fired and pressed into early retirement.
"OMG no one was fired....everyone had/has choices and opportunities" I was released!!! So guess what I was told my position was eliminated!!! Are you an id--t??? People were released!!! Lots of them.
Are you not in Bloomington?
What is wrong with this company??
We are being told you cant be in 100% SLO.. you have to help other people instead of doing your own stuff?? Even when you are in 100% SLO.. still help people and do more work for them than you do yourself!!!! And you get your hand slapped? For doing YOUR JOB!!!! No thank you! No nothing!!!!
And then, the people that sit there and do NOTHING and havent for years is sitting there still getting away with it???? Management wants us to play games in order to get the numbers they want... but I dont play games and Im not about to start! You know what you can do with your precious “numbers” that are NEVER right!!! Hell, management doesnt even know how to pull them up for gods sakes!!! Sinking ship!!!! Sinking fast!!!
OP is spot on!
Yes, hgg, there are ways to get rid of people without firing the. They offer a 55 year old a job in another state. They know they’re not going to take that job. Don’t be naive. Then they give that person’s current job to a younger employee at a lower salary. Vile.
To the person who wrote OMG no one was fired, I know at least 20 people who whose job was done away with and received no offers. 5 of them were between 2 and 5 years from retirement. I know for a fact they didn’t receive offers. One of them was my boss and one of them was my best friend. Excellent long term employees. And I’m only one person. OMG, indeed.
Everyone has choices? Not so fast! Sure, when you are trying to feed your family, and need the benefits. The top people at Sate Farm along with much of management are little Maggots! They feed off dead tissue. They will have their day of judgement, and many of them will go to hell for their sins! Maybe one day I will go there as well, but they are a shoe in.
This post is simplistic but pretty spot on with the current state of things.
My fear is that the damage done is irreparable.
Before the EOM (Ebola Operations Mismanagement) virus swept the company's business units, leadership was saying this would change the company and help it better compete and hold everyone accountable.
Look where State Farm is now: ET is a mess; our technology remains antiquated; customers leaving in droves; experienced employees gone; new leadership that has no real clue what to do except apply the tourniquet and hope they're not next to get chopped.
Hgg you are pretty ignorant. There are a lot of ways to get rid of people without directly firing them.
