All Chip Design to Be Moved to BDC

From a very reliable VP, ALL chip design (including high end) will be moved to BDC. Also all PD for cores that is not already there, will be moved. IP development, where possible will be phased there with time. Guess Q engineering in the US is going to be limited.

Like it or not, h1b are overated commodity in USA. Bdc with close to 100 tapeouts under its belt needs no acid test anymore.

KK has been told to cut expense significantly. He plans to do it and maintain the roadmap by moving the large majority of work to BDC regardless of what he says publically.

I think the better question is “why should any design stay in San Diego?”

If anyone has a good reason please share. I honestly can’t think of one good reason all chip work should be done in BDC.

The SD team thinks they are great. In fact they need hundreds of engineers to do designs that BDC can do with dozens. SD is so political they step on their own feet.

I heard last week at an executive dinner that all chips would be moved to bdc by next year but they are waiting for the 2018 elections to be sure the Trumptards can’t screw us over again

the fact is pretty much nothing with today's chip design can not be handled by BDC

Move to India is inevitable. Great news for Bengalaru job market.

Now is a good time to leverage San Diego job for move back to India. Status, pay, etc.

I personally can’t wait to get away from the smelly Caucasians.

All I know is that landscape maintenance work will NOT be off-shored. My contact told me, "No vamos a otro país, ja luchamos mucho para llegar, y no me importa que dice el pendejo en la casa blanca."
