Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

GED is done for

GED is done for. IT is going to move back to the businesses and Predix,APM etc will either be sold or disposed of. GE thought software is a joke and in no time they will be competing with Google but that was the stupidity of its executives. There will also be a flight of talent out of GED, I know of at least 4 ppl in my or alone who are already looking for jobs outside GE.

It is interesting to hear people at work that think GED will survive. I guess they won't believe until they are let go or moved to different company and/or role. When Fowler left he new it was over. Just surprised many of regular employees have not left. Maybe like me they are using GE for a change to find the perfect position outside the company. Hope i have not waiting to long.

IMO there will be folks who will stick around as I see some from past 5 years who got promoted from a DTLP to principal architect and Engineer to almost VP level and I doubt any other company would provide such an incredible growth with no true business outcomes and will be challenging for them to find something on their own unless they go along with their leaders who promoted them

why would ruh leave when he can sit around collecting a check for developing and selling vaporware.

the amazing part is flannery not immediately firing him, but ties run deep

The respect senior leaders are providing is so appreciated. With our Interim CIO at the helm how could we possibly fail?

HR posters assume staff are "resources" and not individuals and so should compete based purely on supply and demand like the price of oil.

If people are looking for jobs outside GE I think that is good career move. However telling everyone and advising others to leave is not so smart. You created competition for yourself. I think quite few of these type posts have other motives. If others are leave you believe it makes your job safer.
