So true. I left after 24 years and took a job with another insurer at the same level and pay. State Farm taught me to be adaptable as a result of all the change during my career. It paid off as I successfully adapted to life in a new environment. Hang in there, there is life after State Farm.

Excellent article. It happened to me during the Great Recession 10 years ago. Getting laid off is not the end of the world even for older workers unless you allow it to be. There is no such thing as "security" in this world. The secret is to be able to adapt.
