I thought Raghu was actually going to provided information. He threw out some very impressive words but in the end stated absolutely nothing. So much for being the Human Resource Leader who advocates for employees

HR at GE, what a joke...
When John ultimately fails it will be result of all advice he gets from HR. I think John being a liberal arts guy is impressed by someone that speaks well and use big words.
This presentation was a joke. JF's HR leader dropped the ball on this.
Maybe his pasta sauce is better????
HR exists to ensure the staff are fully exploited to do exactly what management wants for exactly as long as management wants.
This is why you are referred to as human "resources" (things one exploits) rather than human "beings" (people who exist).
The "operating system" metaphor is an extension of this dehumanization philosophy. Instead of living people staff are lifeless code in a digital system that simply execute orders given.
Must be from the lessons on Imagination at Work and Creative Corporate Accounting.
Maybe the GE Operating System will be like the new laptops being delivered to new hires... Late and half installed...
oblivious
Psychologists have discovered that when leaders use vague and abstract language, it gives them a sense of authority. Talking about details and specifics conveys weakness. GE management is good at this this technique.
HR Leader? Operating System??? What happened?
