Does anyone know why the topic concerning the city manager statements on the situation of housing in Sidney Nebraska was taken down.

I truly believe the powers to be in the comminity as well as the county will continue quid pro quo, instead of tackling the issues at hand. Hoping they will correct themselves or just go away.

Meanwhile those of us who live here and call this area home, suffer due to their head in the sand syndrome.

I would guess actual number for sale in Sidney at 250 homes and this is not including all the homes scheduled to be built at one time. The solution is not to ignore this situation or do a study to try manipulate The figures to look like a boom town. Instead a policy of bringing city county and state officials together along with city residents and business leaders to propose policy to improve the housing situation.

Looking at the various real estate site for the area you see a number of residences listed, How many throughout the commuity are not listed that are FSBO or have had the previous occupants just walk way and are in limbo?

Any idea what the actual number could be? Traveling around the community there are so many empty homes it is extremely heartbreaking,

The 60 homes which have had city services disconnected the majority are probably in a foreclosure statuses. Which seems high but in my area there are probably ten nice homes in this statues.

The city manager stated his figures indicated 60 homes for sale which was reported by the local media.

When two major websites posted on available homes for sale in Sidney one listed 142 homes and the other listed 153 homes for sale in Sidney. In addition the city manager stated he was basing his figures of 60 homes for sale on the number of homes which had the utilities discontinued. I am very certain done of the homes had the utilities disconnected which was listed for sale on either of these two websites.i am open for discussion if someone is in disagreement and would rather have a discussion instead of silly insults.

My guess as to the reasoning for the removal of the posts in question is that I could have possibly be seen as a direct attack as well as he was named.

Other than that it is anyone's best guess.

The 154 is only a partial listing there are homes in foreclosure homes being rented out homes for sale that are not listed on this site which are for sale also.

Realities com has 154 homes listed for sale in Sidney and I would think everyone of those homes have the utilities on. In reality the comment by the city manager relayed my the radio station is wrong in regard to the number of homes for sale in Sidney.

Because they are sick of paying an electric bill for a house that they can't sell

A very odd spread sheet to me . I have probably looked at a hundred houses for sale in the last twenty years. Of those 100 houses 100 houses had the utilities on and not one of the homes had the utilities disconnected . Why would anyone who is trying to show a home disconnect the utilities?

Has anyone ever notice if someone voice a topic are the city of Sidney government they are often met with the remark move on this is off subject. The truth is City government has a fairly large effect on Cabela's or bass pro. however when a poster post rumors about this business or that business or this guys private life or that woman private life which has basically no effect on the subject nothing is ever said. It really look like someone involved with the city of Sidney is trying to run this site.

Why doesn't the local press throw ed Sadler spread sheet in the trash and call the relator around town and look on the internet to see how many homes are for sale. Also they could call the local court house and see how many homes have been sold in the last two years.

This is the reason there’s only 60-some houses up for sale,” Sadler said as to why the spreadsheet was put together. “Even with all of the people who have left, a lot of the properties have been bought or are being rented. We don’t have a week around here where we’re not getting three or four new people signing up for utilities service around here.”At last check, Sadler says there are currently only 63 residences in the Sidney area that are classified as “vacant” meaning that they are not receiving any Utility services from the City. WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ED MY NEIGHBOR HAS A 400 THOUSAND HOME FOR SALE WITH A REALATOR SIGN IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE FOR TWO YEARS AND HAS NOT DISCONNECTED CITY SERVICES. THE HOME IF FOR SALE. ALSO ZILLOW HAS 142 HOMES LISTED FOR SALE IN SIDNEY AND THIS IS ONLY A PORTION OF THE HOMES.

I FIND POST AFTER POST WHICH HAS NO BEARING ON BASS PRO OR CABELAS ON THIS SITE AND THE POST ARE NEVER TAKEN DOWN. HOWEVER WHEN ONE POST FACTS ON A COMMUNITY WHERE BASS PRO AND CABLEAS IS LOCATED AND A SITUATIONS THAT POTENTIALLY COULD HAVE A HUGE EFFECT ON BASS PRO OR CABELAS BECAUSE IT POINTS OUT WHERE THE CITY MANAGER WAS WRONG IN A VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE IT IS TAKEN DOWN. THIS IS SAD

It didn’t really pertain to Cabela’s really. Or Bass Pro, just the unfortunate demise of Sidney and how the media/city manager was spinning things to the positive.

Not surprised. As far as I remember, it was written in pretty rude tone, and names and personal insults are not allowed here. Plus it was off-topic.
