They need to offer something beyond attaching to BB parts.

I don't know but there are some really solid engineers in both PMIC PTE and VI. There is a lot of work for such a small group of people. They all work hard and get things done.
There is no doubt that TS is a technically strong guy. @ses was talking about xma and how condescending he is. xma is the VI lead, which is the worst of all PMICs (systems and design). A lot of people don't stay in VI due to how bad xma is.

I can speak for PMIC VI and I can tell you it is one of the worst groups in QCT. This group is for technically inept folks who can't find a better place for work. The lead xma is rude and condescending, he is such a terrible manager. People who left the group did the right thing.
Good folks departure is the best thing that could happen to the remaining guys, big retention bonus coming. Cheers.
