You trolls are so dumb. You can't have 100% development overseas. The brains are here and the cheap labor is overseas. Besides, it's in the US's best interest to keep core R&D controlled in the US.

last layoffs they cut 5% in SD and 25% in bay area from cnn all hands.

I think they will trim down more here in SD, a lot of luxury positions still exist.

i expect another 1000 ..in Aug.

@2len the argument can still be made for reducing Silicon Valley footprint down to one miserable building. Workforce declines in California continue in step with increases in India and China. New reqs there, very, very few here. Anyone honestly expect that trend to change at all over time?

Soc is like legos, any idiot can plug and play..thus it is now outsourced to india and china.

core IP development is still in the US. The first implementation of standards will always be in US and then the sh--ty derivativ3s will xome from sub standard asia locations..

this has been going on for a long time..

Still need to continue the $1B cost reduction promised the shareholders. The hiring for key spots is on, but the RIF for 'unsupported' roles is going to happen in August. Total HC is to be ~2750 people in SD/SJ combined. SJ is scheduled to be a ghost organization to support offshore Wifi activities.

There will be new notifications in August. If anyone thinks layoffs are done they are delusional. Recent cuts are the tip of the iceberg.

If anyone thinks that all these services and bus that have been outsourced or offshore needs US based program and project managers as well as their management layer your dreaming. Yes there will be more lay offs but probably after an evaluation period between August and September. Count yourself lucky if you are leaving before then.

No more layoffs planned. People leaving in august are the ones who were notified several weeks ago.
