Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Is employee turnover for your store at an all time high ?

Realizing week after week that much of my store there are new faces that were not there a few months ago. There are long time employees here still, but almost 50% of the outfitters here now were not here last fall. Is this a screaming indicator time to get out of here while the getting is good? I mean, some departments turn over a new hire in a few weeks at best. I've seen people working here for a few days or a few weeks and then they are gone. And I have shifts that overlap with all the employees here too, so I can make note of who is new. People start working here and then they find jobs somewhere else. Can it be any more obvious now is a great time to get out and find a better place to work?

Corp is where the real money is at, keeping all those managers and managers for the managers on board is all that matters. We all know that store personal don't make the company any money. Why would they? Only servicing the customers who buy the products, phhssst. That's not important! Keeping the Team that helped run the company to the ground is more important than the customers that go to the store.

Our store is a revolving door for part time outfitters. Most full time outfitters (GM, Assistant GM's, GSM's and Leads) have been at the store for years and aren't going to leave until they are forced out just like past managers. They know they can't go somewhere else in retail and make what they are making at their current position.

Retail always has turnover but never as much as the past few years. When our store first opened a lot of employees stayed for years. During breaks and lunches the breakroom was filled with people talking about hunting and fishing. We all did a lot of stuff together outside work.

Weve had so many layoffs, and lost so many managers that the outdoor people are gone. Our GM doesn't even hunt or fish. People are hired to fill a spot and don't even hunt or fish. Our store used to be a place for outdoor people but not any more. I haven't spoken to anyone in the breakroom for months. It's sad. I bet our store is not alone.

I respect your question, but duh. With all this chaos, the answer to that question was yes at least a year ago.
