Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Finally!

Finally there is some media attention on the arbitration agreements that some of us were forced to sign by Lowe's. I know nothing will come out of this, but it's still nice to see those on top called out for questionable practices.

I’m a support manager at a store In upstate NY . I feel as if he senior management staff know that this is coming and they’re trying to get some of us support and service managers to quit or get fired so that they can take our jobs when their job are eliminated. A few weeks ago I was written up for a door that was supposedly open and one of the senior managers had to come when the alarm went off. I know that I shut and locked the door , but according to them - I was at fault. I left and hour before the other manager who left the company a few weeks back .. so he should’ve received the write up. The excuse was that .. well we knew he was leaving and that’s why we didn’t write him up . Bull crap! They waited two weeks after he left to write me up . They even took him to lunch on his last day of work with our store. He should’ve been documentated. But of course my store has its favorites. I’m known as the nice guy at work and the management team doesn’t like that associates feel comfortable talking to me about their issues in the store.

I am a voice and my associates are also.

I’m so tired of the way this store is ran but now with a written in my file, I cannot transfer to another location for an entire year . The ethics line won’t even pick up anymore.. there’s no where to go ...

For a long time we have heard rumors about having a central store manager over several stores and getting rid of ASM's since the Service Manager's do their jobs. I wonder if this could be a proactive Lowe's action for future reorganization and/or layoffs. Whenever new blood takes over a company, there are always shake ups.
