Is that the week of July 2nd, or the 2nd week in July?
July 2nd week
There are a number of people that were notified 3 months ago but stayed on until their usefulness was no longer required. I believe either Friday or Monday is the last day.
That may represent a layoff that happened 60 days before. I think when some companies lay off, they keep employees 'on the books' for 60 days, to follow some law(s). So the WARN notice date might be that 60 days Before July 10, there were 36 employees notified, and 60 days later (July 10) is when they are officially "no longer on the payroll".
So, that may represent a layoff / notice that happened to 36 people a few weeks ago ...
California requires that companies post their layoffs to their WARN system. You can see the upcoming NetApp layoff here: http://www.edd.ca.gov/jobs_and_training/warn/WARN-Report-for-7-1-2017-to-06-10-2018.pdf
July 10, 2018 36 Sunnyvale employees.
I've had this news confirmed as well. Seems the impact will be felt globally, not just in the US.
This post is garbage.
Yes, this is confirmed for Support and Services. Low performing TSE will be let go to make room for HCI and Cloud TSE. Some middle management in redundant roles will be impacted. Also some overlay teams are having their functions absorbed. Field Engineer team will Be wiped out and PS will take their work. Field Support Mgr team will be wiped out and the Critical Case Team will take their responsibilities. More to come
