Has there been any news on next round of layoffs at NetApp? I've seen mentions of July and August as potential layoffs months, but there is very little additional info.
Should we take the no news as good news and accept that we are safe for a while? Or is that too optimistic on my part?
Just don't take your job for granted. I thought I was "safe" and I ended up getting laid off in the May, 2018, layoffs. When they can they are moving jobs to RTP where the salaries are lower.

July is all but over, and nothing. It is unusually quiet too. Seems like a good thing because NetAppis are about as leak-proof as the current Whitehouse staff.
They filed back in early May for 36 employees effective 7/10/2018.

If you don't want to work for a company concerned about stock price then that limits you to not working for any company that is publicly traded. As well as any company that is a tech start up as that is where they want to get to eventually. So yeah. Bad advice. You owe the company nothing beyond the work you provide that they pay you to deliver. In reverse they owe you nothing. The key is to find work you are happy doing and people you like working with.
There are always trimming of the herd. I’d get out and not support a company that is only concerned with its stock price. They stopped caring about their people years ago.
