20+ Ai Schools to close

Previous post was removed within hours, names ommitted this time. Additional information provided.

22 Art Institutes to close this year.

9 will remain open.

The final list is pending.

Teachouts will not happen at most campuses, students will instead be distributed among remaining schools and other local schools.

Layoffs of employees at effected campuses will be swift.

This information was obtained from the the leadership at Ai Hollywood (which will be the only California campus to remain open) as well as from executive level DCEH leadership.

This is part of a broader plan to phase out Ai but only the 22 schools will be effected. this year.

Official communication has not been provided yet, this information was disseminated to campus presidents.

Executive level leadership positions will be shuffled between campuses, however all other positions within schools will not be.

While it may be hard to read, leadership positions at effected campuses will be offered a financial incentive program to over see the closing of thier respective school.

Timeline for informing students and staff is pending.

It’s true. I was told my campus is on the list to close (Phoenix).

Towards the end of Spring quarter, colleagues and I were wondering if campus would even be open after Summer quarter. All of my summer classes were cut yesterday, and roughly 80% of my department's majors (not including mine) went teach out as of late May-ish.

This post sounds about right.

Severance will be 1 week per year - just like those of us who were laid off last go round. .

Start the countdown: The Dream Crusher’s Employee Holocaust is about to begin.

Cake and ice cream will be provided to those whom are slated to be terminated in lieu severances as those funds are to be allocated amongst executives at HQ.

Do the math...

It would be 5+ million to pay out and the schools barely break even.

Why would we not be given severance?

A lot of HR and executive committee are on vacation this week... Calm before the storm?? Either way, our admissions department is inflating our July start... but the numbers don't lie.
