Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart treating associates like trash

Walmart is now rid of many fresh positions and support manager spots and told associates to find something else, they give them 60days or per management corporate told them to terminate the associate. With the change you will be moved through the store in areas where you take a pay cutt which isn't fair SOMEONE NEED TO SPEAK ABOUT THIS.

ITS CURRENTLY GOING ON IN MINNESOTA

For the person that posted he/she is proud to work at Walmart you goals in live must be pretty slim and you must enjoy living pay check to pay check and most likely live with mom and dad and they are still supporting you. You probably one of those persons that will get married in the Garden Center at you Walmart you work at. My God how pathetic for me to actually see someone write that they are proud to work at Walmart. The raises if that's what you want to call them wont cover the cost of how much insurance increases each year so you don't actually get a raise you take a pay cut. Some of you Walmart people are worse than the crap I read on the Sam's Club site. Sam's actually use to be a great place to work until they turned it into Wal-Mart. Having one part of the business with employess that hated there job wasn't enough they had to go a change Sam's to run like Wal-Mart.

When Walmart tells you to step down, or change positions, listen to what’s going on.

Move or lose. Sometimes you should take a step back to move forward.

This is true. Thanks job was eliminated. Associates effected were given two options 4am-1pm or 2pm-10pm. Some people were on third because they need to work those hours for whatever reason. It isn't right and for those of you still believing in Walmart, just hold tight. They will eventually p--p on the as well.

Yes I'm in Washington state . I was just informed three days ago that my fresh sales / cleaner position was terminated . I looked along with assistant mgrs yes two and the store mgr for a new position . Together we chose Fresh cap 2 in produce . It's a great change / fit for me in produce , because I was throwing freight in produce and meats and cleaning fresh anyway for years . I lost the differential from night going to days . I can live with that . My advice to all associates is to find a position you are passionate at at Walmart . I love my job . I enjoy working on the fresh side . I am proud to work at Walmart .

Nobody said anything about lay offs, it's about people being displaced to lower paying and part time/no benefits job classes. If you're going to mount an argument get your facts straight first.

Yeah it's idiotic, since they would have to work the same freight plus meat and produce but lost money hourly since it's not overnight but you would have to get up at 3 in the morning to get to work, none of our 3rd shift frozen/dairy would take the fresh cap jobs, we are basically getting kids that work daytime fresh and whatever low performance employees they can scrounge together from 3rd. Not to mention trying to do deep cleaning during first shift, the fact that there isn't enough carts to do CAP 2 breakdown without butting heads with 2nd shift much less to break down FDD just to let the carts sit until 4 in the morning, and our crappy store has 1 ratty freezer coat but teams will be picking cold depts? Whoever at Walmart corporate who came up with this should be fired for incompetence.

This is such BS. Job codes were changed and everyone has a position. NO ONE was laid off...

I worked at #2728 in south east Decatur for 15 years, the 2nd half of which was in p

a fresh area. In the last year there I experienced an eerily similar fate to which you describe. There was put upon me a huge pressure to transfer departments. I dug in my heels, refused to budge....and three months later was fired over completely fabricated and character-destroying accusations.

That was over two years ago. I really am so very much happier now :)

But I am deeply concerned for my long term friends and workers there. I know they're in for much rougher times than I was----and many do not have the past experience/educationsl benefits I had to parachute to safety with.

F--- Walmart.
