Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Good Luck to all of ET Wave 2

I wanted to post this today as I have seen a lot of what I would call "Non State Farm" way attitudes on here lately. A lot of this attitude is the real reason why we are falling short as a company, that is not how we started and not how we became the #1 Auto Insurer in the nation. We had pride in our work, and how we conducted ourselves, but not today... Sad

I am a Wave 1 employee, but this does not mean today is going to be a very tough today for me as well. I have a lot of people that are impacted that are dear friends, coworkers and all around I am a human being that has compassion for others. Say what you will as to how we got here, but no one impacted today was not asked to do the role they are into today. This was a direction from leadership, and they did they best they could do with the course direction they were given.

The last year in ET has been a long road of vague, total disruption of work and our home lives. This execution of this transformation will be one for case studies for years to come at the collegiate level of "WHAT NOT TO DO"... I am just glad we are finally here today to bring some closure, good or bad. I hope we are an team can come together and support our peers regardless of their individual outcomes and be the Good Neighbors we should be!!

The High Road test in RI is very promising. This is innovative and exceeds customer expectations. Next up, find a vendor that can build it out and scale it.

How many auto policies did we get in May?

What was the target?

Well you get that when business tells IT that its their fault and deliver faster with less money or people...

I would like to know who is doing the testing of functionality before being released.

When you get policy cancel pop ups and "Sorry to see you go" surveys when you pay premium online someone is doing a craptacular job. Even though they did put out an excuse a few days later saying it was a sorry to see you go from the website survey.

I call "they think we are stupid enough to believe that".

Bottom line is the talent is not there and/or supervision is a non-technical person and doesn't know the first thing about what to ask.

Those are the things combined with high rates that even Allstate can beat and still make a profit, that drive existing and possible new customers into the arms of the competitors.

Looks like the solution to the problem is hiding in plain sight and everyone is blind.

Unbelievable!

@TRO2syc-aav It is 1000% Corp Business fault... The agency model is a way out dated yet no one in Business has the ballz to makr the hard decision to transform how we do business. The Business decided to offer so many products that make impossible to create seamless integrated solutions for out customer. The business will not all us to make real changes and let of the legacy tools.. The business has never paid for the cost of ownership of IT... So we play the lotto each year as to what we get to work on rather then really focus on what needs to be fixed

There are very talented and technical folks in ET that rival any software vendor we work with or any IT shop that is out ther.:: I challenge anyone that says ET is worthless to put your money wher your mouth is and come over and work some stories next week!!

Company culture of the Good Neighbor has been changed forever. Long-timers who really care are being replaced with new people who don't. Say goodbye to the SF you once knew.

Our online results in both auto and fire are terrible. And yes that IS a direct reflection of ET. The site is neither innovative or even user friendly or sometimes even responsive. And please don’t inaccurately claim that it is due to business requirements which is just IT BS. We have struggled for nearly 20 years in this key area. It is not that IT lost its way they just don’t have the vision/talent.

Good luck to all impacted. This dark cloud has been around for far too long.

The Auto issue has nothing to do with IT...Its our inability to let go of sacred cows coupled a total demoralization of the workforce responsible for providing service to said auto customers through this 1/2 hazard “transformation”.

Lol....it’s hard to take pride in your work when you’re ashamed to work for this crap company. Any pride I had walked out the door the day Tippy became CEO.
