Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

State Farm moving Headquarters 2021

Looks like most of legal is headed deep in the heart of Texas. Executives will do the same by 2021. Next year expect more waves to be implemented. The plan is to have a skeleton staff here in Bloomington within the next 4 years mostly claims and the bank. I'm lucky to have kept my job for now, but next year who knows.

Someone is claiming to have a job in Systems and Corporate Law?

That’s nonsense.

I'm not sure what the poster says is all true but I have heard part of legal is relocating by the end of the year.

If you are going to post lies and nonsense you get to own it. Read the previous posts. First, it was received “accidentally”. Then when called on that he/she said they had access to all the computers and email in the SF organization. I know that is not true from my own work

I think instead of bashing this person we should wait and see if corporate law is relocated by the end of the year. Don't hate when you are provided information though it may be speculation.

You can’t have simultaneous elevated accesss to Executive : Law Department : HR : or any other potentially sensitive areas - even if you had more degrees than a thermometer

7th grade that's fun. I have a degree thank you. I didn't know I had to use proper grammar to satisfy your lack of intelligents. I guess you will have to see.

No single person has "access" (privileged or otherwise) to all "computers" on SF internal network. And if there were a multi-platform superuser he wouldn't write about it so glibly and at a 7th grade level. Anyhow, you don't need special "access" to "computers" to receive an email. This guy needs to pound sand full-time.

Let’s just say what you access can be tracked.

“Well let's just say I have access to every computer on state farms network.”

There are no “accidental leaks” ever. Primarily because only a few executives know and even then it is never in writing, for multiple reasons. This topic is for a troll’s enjoyment.

If I ever accidentally received info like that I'd be praying that nobody leaked that info and I'd certainly not be the one to do so.

Guarantee you that if you accidentally got on some email or somehow received the info they'd know you got it. So when even the slightest hint of that info gets leaked you'd be the one paying that price because they'd immediately suspect you.

Funny how they have seen the documentation that was sent accidentally, but cannot show any of said documentation. Why would SF spend 150 million on renovations in Bloomington only to pull out in a few years. Yes, anything can happen, and IL govt s---s, but, for the most part, the company has been upfront on what’s coming.

All BS. BTW Texas imposes a Franchise Tax rather than a corporate income tax which is much worse (higher.)

Actually, if State Farm were to move it’s HQ to a state with no corporate income tax, and just abandon all their facilities in Bloomington and lease new ones... they would be money ahead in the first year. I don’t know how much longer SF can AFFORD to stay in Bloomington.

Before the end of the 4 quarter legal will be relocated to the hubs in Texas. I will provide more as time goes on.

The truth: simple. If you were privy to documentation, provide a few details. You know, just tell The Truth.

It would be mind-blowing if you could deliver! Anything else is completely expected.

The Company is run by people with strong financial backgrounds. There is no way to make the numbers work. The cost of relocation plus the cost of under utilized space in Bloomington owned buildings plus new cost to lease space cannot possibly be offset with some tax savings!

I'm not the same person that said the CEO is leaving give me a break. Like someone said it's all about taxes. It's not they will close up shop and leave Bloomington entirely. I guess those who are foolish to believe this won't happen will find out in 2 to 3 years.

Oh ye of little faith.

Don't ever think for a moment that because they were so entrenched that they will not do something like this. Do you actually think that the people who make these decisions are like you and I?

It takes a special kind of person to ascend to the heights in any company. They are all about bottom line and if it ain't working they cut costs, write off real estate, lower salaries, which by the way will be coming after they are done thinning the herd. The ones that weren't laid off think they have dodged the carnage but those left behind will be the ones to give up something also. That will be of course in pay and benefits. They already have all the data from the immediate area to just match what the local market would compensate for skill sets.

As Mrs. Doubtfire's husband use to say to her when he wanted a little loving......

"Brace yourself Effie"

Texas corporate laws are not nearly as friendly to companies as they are in ILL. No way this happens. SF executive is laughable but even they aren't that stupid.

Do you know what that would do to the community? You keeping your job would be the least of your problems. The infrastructure in Bloomington is owned by State Farm and there is no market for it. They are here to stay, though the hubs will be utilized until someone discovers the competition and turnover make them problematic, and the leases are cancelled. You're a goof!

The only buildings SF actually owns are in Bloomington IL. There is no one on the planet interest d in buying those monstrosities in the middle of cornfields in the most dysfunctional state in the U.S.

This rumor is by the same person that was telling everyone the CEO was leaving at end of the year, quarter, month, week. Utter nonsense.
