Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

So let’s recap..

Since Flannery has taken over:

The stock has lost more than 50%of its value.

The dividend was cut by 50%

Layoffs..Layoffs..Layoffs

Announced a possible breakup that hasn’t occurred yet

Let go of half of the board (may be a good thing)

Apologized to employees for insensitive remarks after a round of layoffs

Dropped from the Dow

Is the focus in the right area? Seems like he’s the wrong guy to lead the company.

The GE board should look at history and remember what IBM did when it faced break up. It They hired an outsider (Lou Gerstner), who restored the company to greatness. The mistake the board made was to appoint an insider. A person who was part of the team who created the problems is NOT the person who will fix them....

If Immelt remained in charge you would still living the dream, because that is all he delivered. I don't blame Flannery for the situation. My everyone should read Comstock's book on how to manage change and destroy and icon.
