Great statement and entirely true. Too many hands in processes. Local managers actually do nothing. They are simple yes men from what comes from above and when someone under them asks them a question, their standard “it’s ok” comes out. The problems in windstream have always been incompetent top heavy managers. Loads of em. Watch a meeting. 4 managers standing like alphas, 6 workers looking at them like they are dumbsh1t$.
I mean, ...the statement isn't genius. But it's painfully true. One of the many many many reasons we are laughably crumbling from the inside out is because we are doing things the 100% polar opposite of efficient and progressive when it comes to processes. The lets-have-12-different-groups-do-something-one-group-can-do mentality boggles my mind on every level. And it's perpetuated when someone points out that only 1 group could do it, and everyone stuck in the old ways loses their minds because they have never done it any other way.
Give the local managers something to do besides approve time sheets? You are an idiot. If you had any clue about what the amount of BS a local manager goes through in the average day around here or what planners do or the difference a good planner makes to an operations team you’d be rethinking that genius statement.
Sorry for the loss of the planner people but honestly I never understood why this role isn’t conducted by the local managers for the techs in their own area. Why have somebody states away plan your route when they don’t even know the area. ETA route planning is also a disaster. Give the local managers something to do other than approve time sheets.

How can the clowns running this circus continue to look at those of us that are left with a straight face when they claim we are a growth company? How can they even pretend that the future looks bright other than for themselves and their golden parachutes? They keep telling us "just work harder and do more".......yeah ok, I sure will.
