Green lanyard, I left partly BECAUSE of agile practices. There are not fewer business people. There have been no cuts in corporate underwriting. They even “saved” their offsite workers which systems was not allowed to do even if they were skilled and very technical developers. There are not fewer people needed, they are just being called something different. They are just doimg more and more wuth less, implementations constantly on weekends and from now on if you dont or cant participate on weekends itll be a mark against you. Forced loyalty = no loyalty.

Agree on reason for delay is due to release this weekend. June 26 is the beginning of notices. I find it interesting they're conducting it alphabetical order. This means they don't want to look like they play favorites and don't want to alert anyone to layoff methods. I wonder if systems first line managers actually know who is getting let go. I know some employees view compliments given this week by their managers as an indication they are safe... But I think that could be a rude awakening if first line has no clue and doesn't make the decision of who gets cut. I don't work there anymore but I really wonder how the culture has changed in systems. I left last year just after scrum masters and agile methods were heavily used. So I wonder if it's all actually improving releases or not now. For sure less people needed, which can lessen confusion, unless the wrong people are left. Just wondering how many Non technical people are needed on systems efforts now... And wondering how many business owners are needed on systems efforts. To me it was always odd so many business owners were involved when most weren't actually contributing to tangible systems results of a release. I digress... Heard Increased security is at corp south due to layoffs. Be safe.

Impacted people, please ask for a listing of the ages of those laid off and those retained. It is my understanding they have to give this to you by law. Protect yourselves.

I’m sure it will be a cluster $@&? That will see good people leaving and crappy ones staying. Best wishes to all.

Meeting today. There will be no 1x1 discussions before this weekend. Cant afford the release this weekend to get tanked.

I agree the smart thing is to notify folks going into the weekend for a couple of reasons.

  1. Why keep delaying this painful process, to what end does that make any sense?

  2. Either folks can get a huge sigh of relief and start to put their life back in order and actually enjoy a weekend... Or if you are not selected if gives you a full weekend to digest this and not feel the pressure of being at work all week with 1 million questions, anger, sadness...

Well wait a minute nothing in ET Transformation has made one but of sense!!

It will likely be similar to wave 1. A few talking heads explaining the process and expectation and leaving the dirty work for the manager to handle in a 1:1.

Video? Are they just going to flash an org chart and you have to search for your name?

Actually, every manager's calendar I looked at today showed a private meeting at 10 am tomorrow. I predict overstaffed resources will get invited to a video on Tuesday.

There will be no meetings before this weekend as their is a huge release and if they had the meetings this Friday you can imagine how that would be received. They have known for weeks but were afraid of the fallout be this release. Nice!

My guess is that we will have the large scale meeting with all impacted early next week detailing next steps and then managers will have the next couple days to let people know their fate. #MayTheOddsEverBeInYourFavor
