Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

I'm really sorry about what happened to Fisher Price.

I'm really sorry about what happened to Fisher Price. I remember when your company had a better reputation. I wish Mattel cared more about quality.

Management and above make me sad. Most of them don't listen and seem to consider any kind of conversation about how to make things better as whining or complaining. Down in the trenches - anyone below management, the people are pretty great and since those are the people I tend to deal with, it's still a nice place to work.

I don't know what the managers have to deal with that makes them the way they are. I'm guessing it's an indication that things are probably worse than I can imagine.

inbreds will keep inbreeding. stop your delusional posturing. EA is done for and MZ supposedly resigning is a tell tale sign that the division is all but done for. There is no hope for EA. just a desolate nowhere town that will soon fall into ruin.

FP is salvageable despite being owned by Mattel. It’s the talented folks in EA that have kept it alive despite the flakes and fruits in ES meddling. Move it to ES and watch it go away for good.

WRONG!! Mattel will absorb EA and close the campus. That will be the next move. no sell off of the company. the EA Inbreds will be wandering the streets of buffalo like lost cattle. All core production will be moved to ES. YAWN has spoken!

Wrong! FP as a brand has more value than anything else Mattel owns. They would be lucky to get sold and be out from under Mattel's mismanagement.

FIsher-price is headed the route of radica. be prepared for east aurora to turn into a ghost town in the next 10 months. you’ve been warned. YAWN is in sell mode and you inbred hicks have less value then the real estate.

I think Fisher-Price still makes good quality toys.

Sorry pal, Fisher Price made money under Mattel only due to their reputation. Once the world recognized their quality turned to the Mattel crap quality , sales dropped. Believe me, I know, I was there both before and after the abortion of the take over.

FP flourished for years under mattel and in many instances was the top earner, so please stop with the histrionic BS. True the head of design and the VP of packaging are useless old men that are riding it out hoping to make it to retirement before they get fired (take note HR) but it wasn't until BS and his cost reduction ethos and his desire to make the investors happy at the cost of our consumer base did we really start to falter with quality and loss of consumer confidence. People cried foul along the way and were pushed out the door by any means necessary. Pity the fools left behind because your future is uncertain at best.

Yes it was a sad day for Fisher Price when Mattel bought them. The FP reputation was a good one but Mattel slowly whittled away at their product and now the public can’t be fooled anymore. Furthermore, the current head of design isn’t worthy of even parking in the FP parking lot.
