Same at my store, i have been there for 5 months and already noticed this pattern. the managers and HR LOVE saying we are fully staffed.

Its a joke, we have people that quit and are scheduled FOR MONTHS.

Its a bit strange when you work 9-6 and never see another employee IN THE ENTIRE STORE for hours at a time.

Its a way to keep corp. happy by showing an attempt to cover the dept. and save payroll expenses.

seriously i feel they should stop giving part time benefits.

maybe we can get rid of employees that are doing under bare minimal just for the benefits.

This is the exact same thing that is happening at our store as well. Morning lumber associates are being scheduled in millworks as coverage. Pro services used as tool coverage. Unloaders as coverage in plumbing and paint. Its a disgrace to know that the reason for the restructure was to put more employees on the floor which never happened. I have employees that only work 1 day a week taking up space on payroll. Employees are being hired on with horrible availabilities that do not line up with what the store needs. Its so frustrating!!!!

That’s the same bull... they pulled at my old store, why aren’t managers fired for falsifying a Lowe’s document. A girl I worked with was scheduled 3 weeks after she had given notice and quit. I asked an ASM and he said she didn’t show, 1/2 hour later she was in the store shopping. I asked why she wasn’t showing, she said she’d picked up her last paycheck 3 weeks earlier.

Some employees have as much as 12 hour shifts scheduled, but are told to only work their normal 8 hour shift, so it appears that the store is maximizing hours for coverage. All in all.........the hours are there but the employees are not. Are you going to tell me that corporate is so ignorant they do not see through this? And now they are moving some employees to other departments and replacing the full time position with part timers. Some people have been fired, and the position is not being replaced.

Why would an investor want to put money in a company that is run like this?

left lowes last year.at a morning meeting we were told how sales were up from same time last year.we are busy could expect more stock etc. and to help neighbor departments with irps and stock if we had time.at the same time cutting my hours under 40 and the hours i did work having tools/hardware alone.(no biggie tools/hardware go together thats a given)and help cover electrical half the shift.not a problem with the work i like staying busy and working but if business is that good and your short staffed why in the hell are you cutting hours?i could not live on 25 hours a week.6 months never late or called out hr ask me to stay on.no problem give me 40 hrs and i would still be there.

Same here. I wonder where all the “customer facing associates” are that were the justification for getting rid of all the DMs and some ASMs? Haven’t seen any at my store. We are so short staffed that some don’t even get meal breaks. But you believe that there will be a management meeting every Tuesday with out fail.

Payroll, inventory, if our management team has a hand in it then it's being faked to look good on paper and keep their rears covered just a little longer.
