Claims- How did we get here

How did claims to get to be the miserable place that it is? People in impacted roles don’t even want to go to claims when they are facing losing their job.

The non option OT going on 20 months in some areas and others that need the OT are being told no. No time off and the point system. When did it all go wrong and is there any end in sight? Is upper leadership aware of the toxic environment that has been created or are we all just doomed to be zombies chained to our desks for all eternity?

The new model has resulted in SF hiring thousands of garbage people in their HUBS to work claims. SF has no respect for their longtime talented and professional claims staff.

Who the hell knows how SF comes back from where they have gone.

The local claims offices were great. So close and convenient and a much better all around work environment. It is a sweatshop now. The work itself is not the kind of work that can be gauged in that way unfortunately. Can’t keep good talent.

There has always been some misery in claims. It really went south when we closed down all the local claim offices and moved the work to Chinese Sweatshops, OCs and HUBs. Once we mixed in points and made it impossible to get consecutive days off, people started voting with their feet. Our competition is offering better pay and since everyone now works in a Metropolitan area, there is stiff competition for what is left of our talent. Almost one third of the claim specialists in our demand have quit or left for another opportunity in the last three months. Not sustainable folks.
