Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

OMG,,,Stores are falling apart at the seams!

25+year bbb retired,,got myself out before the big downfall and layoffs.

I have been traveling around the country the last few months visiting bb b stores when I can..I have never seen the stores looking this bad..Warren & Len would be appalled if they saw what stores look like and the very, I repeat, very poor moral in the stores. Many stores looked like ghost towns for any staff on the floor..I couldn't get any greets, because there was no staff to do any greets.

SAD days at bbb...The cuts made to the old long term and dedicated staff really are starting to show now. Just another poor decision by upper management ,,again. Reminds me of the early times in the downfalls of....Kmart...Sears....etc.....

A few SM's and staff I spoke to are so stressed out about cuts to hours and knowledgeable mgrs..I am surprised there isn't a mass exodus out the doors!

Good Luck to those who didn't get out sooner.

Ps....I am not disgruntled ex employee,,Just a SAD one, to see what used to be a great company going downhill because of corporate greed!

Blockbuster Video in Alaska......Set to close soon...

Even in Alaska, Blockbuster is fading; "We’re just managing the decline as best we can"

Sounds like the new BBB mantra now...

Great idea on the 50 states of golf. Just stay away from BBB in each state. Better to enjoy retirement. Since you have to go to Alaska, I suggest a visit to Blockbuster Video in Anchorage because a) I didn't realize those things still existed and b) it is now famous.

Actually I spend my time touring around the country golfing,,play everyday..goal is to play in every state. I also volunteer my my time to mentor small entrepreneurs. Just sad to see a company I helped build have such a downfall. I tried to stay in for the long haul,,but corporate greed and nepotism was getting out of control..could not stay and see it go downhill that way. I feel sorry about the way people were let go and how hard it is on the ones still left. Like many greedy companies,,,,the profits come before the people who made those profits possible.

So you retire after a solid 25 year career and your hobby is traveling the country visiting BBB stores? Dude, try golf! Seriously! Anything! You need a better avocation.
