Why did we lose one of our best people to layoffs while several useless schmucks are still here? Who makes these decisions and based on which criteria?
It would be really nice to know, because no matter how much I try, I can't make any sense of this. And then we wonder why NetApp is going down the drain.
Seasoned employees understand the value in keeping one's mouth shut. Laying low and collecting the dough as we say. Meet your numbers and coast! It's an easy thing to do at NetApp. If you aren't able to do that, you should exit. Egos kill dreams and relationships. Just remember that!
I worked at NetApp for over a decade. I left by my own choice. i moved on for this very reason. We let some incredible people go and kept quite a few bootlickers and political players. I could not deal with it anymore and moved on. I can understand the need to cut bodies if the company is overstaffed and positions don't align with vision. But when you watch good people be let go and other people who s--- stay across several "transformations" then you have to make choices. I made mine and am much happier. The worst thing you can do for yourself is stay in a position and be miserable.
I've heard a number of a least 150 being affected this time.
Any idea of how many were affected in this last round?
