Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Pepsico hates people

I'm so glad I don't work there anymore. I could not stand the way the company treated people - layoff after layoff. Also the ops VP wanted to outsource the entire warehouse function to a 3PL. He didn't even care that it was going to cost more money - he just wanted to improve the metric of pounds/fulltime equivalent. The less people we have on payroll, the better that metric becomes. If it wasn't for the finance VP saying this was a stupid idea, they may of done it. I hated having to go through all that ridiculous HR training crap on inclusion, harassment and Org Health. None of it meant anything.

Retirement is awesome. Good luck to everyone that's still there dealing with Indra's stupid direction.

I would never train my replacement. Even if they tied my severance to it, I would probably do a sh--ty job of training - doubt they could really hold me liable for being a poor trainer. At some point, people just have to stand up and say enough is enough. Perhaps it's time for management staff to start looking into the benefit of a management union.

Unfortunately, it’s the same crap hole it was before you retired. Maybe more so now. Indra continues to ship jobs to India and make poor decisions for the future of PepsiCo. Even though she denied it, we are currently working on a project for women’s packaging. What the heck is that all about? Indra has lost her mind and her little chronies just follow her around like lost puppies. 20+ years of this crap with the last 5 being terrible. If not for my pension I would leave. But that means they win & I won’t let that happen

I'm with you guys. I left Pepsi when it still had a building in Somers. It was just one sh--show after another, with a high proportion of fat useless idiots named Dave in management positions who had no other skill but to walk their fat asses around the hallways and ask everybody what they were working on. This was so they could parrot that information to whatever useless idiot they reported to further up in the chain, so that it would look like their ideas. You can't blame them, really. Outside of Pepsi, who else would hire someone middle aged who had no skills, especially with anything remotely associated with IT ? You could smell the desperation that they were trying to conceal with a transparent but ultimately unconvincing display of quiet confidence.

I feel the same way too. I was "retired" in Plano during February and am glad I no longer work there. Three months later there is no way I would ever consider returning to that toxic, political and dysfunctional work environment.
