Thread regarding L3 Technologies layoffs

Job postings

With all the continuous layoffs taking place, why in the world are there so many job postings for L3 available? Just go and do a simple search on linkedin or indeed and you will get dozens of results, some of them not even a day old.

Can somebody please explain to me what is the point of all that? It really pisses me off.

This busy morn will be here long after you leave just wait and see time will tell can't wait it seems to me you're not doing anything that's why you're on this website to you just don't want to admit you're doing nothing all day like me

Instead of looking busy how about you actually be busy and do your job instead of screwing around on this site posting ignorant non justified rumors

Meanwhile the ones who work and continue to value their job and do it correctly are stuck picking up the slack for you who is part of the group that goes around doing nothing but being a waste of money and air

I hope you "look busy" somewhere else, might i suggest the unemployment line

Regardless of what you may think there is allot of work and more coming, You're just too moronic to understand and see what all is going on

Do us all a favor and quit so we can get someone who is actually worth it to help take down the immense work load that many of us are under right now

The top management is not low wage millennials. They are east coast baby boomer A-holes financially parasitizing the company.

Response from “Noneimportant” 100% got it right. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at the layoff list and realize the folks that had higher Salaries, 45 above with long Years of Service were the majority hit by the layoff. L-3 does not reward those employees that were high performers, with a great deal of knowledge and who were loyal hard working employees that put in a significant amount of uncompensated hrs. Once, you hit a salary number and middle age, you are on the list to go. The remaining are those with 3-5 years, who begin packing up for the day 30 mins. before COB. Regardless of critical tasks or meetings scheduled they are out the door and who spend the majority of the day visiting with other employees or sleeping. In addition, make sure you get rid of any ties with prior Executive Staff or other employees that the current CFO does not like or you find yourself on the list.

Feeling disappointed and mourning the L3 from 10 years ago.

The divisions/locations laying off are not the ones hiring. Current employees must apply for a position to transfer.

I think that the divisions having layoffs are not the same ones that are hiring. Plus I have met damn few people who worked at one L3 division and moved to another. We are still a collection of loosely affiliated entities and there's no incentive for some Electronic Systems division to pick up somebody from Communication Systems who is facing a layoff.

  1. Get rid of workers with a lot of years with the company because their salaries are high.

  2. Hire younger workers for less.

  3. Jokes on them. Millennials have a ”different” work ethic.
