Before I was let go, I had several conversations with vendors that said they refused to do business with BP. I guess many of these vendors had bad dealings with BP/JM. Also heard on the clothing side that Cabela’s private label clothing will see a drastic cut in quality of products/materials.
Anyone else had similar conversations with vendors? And so much for a quality product at a reasonable price.
I left BP for greener pastures last year and now that I have left I can tell you that BP and JM are crooks. They prey on small businesses with the promise of a large market and great exposure only to cheat them out and refuse to pay. It’s a shame, I used to be proud that I worked there. I am glad I have moved on to a position I can be proud of.
You can’t name the vendor but you can discuss the vendor policy on this site of bass pro. Lol
The vendors I spoke with , who said they won’t do business with BP, handle automotive goods. I also know of one private label clothing vendor that was told they will no longer be receiving any more purchase orders.

The problem that most suppliers, contractors, and vendors have with BP is that it takes forever to get paid. This is the copycat effect that every big company has learned from Walmart. We want to get paid for our stuff immediately while the folks that keep us going have to wait 90 days, or more. This is devastating for smaller companies.
